The Moogoo Milk Wash is a face wash formulation packaged into a larger bottle so that it can also be used on the body.
Have you ever wondered what is different about a face cleanser compared to a body cleanser? Face cleanser formulations should be very gentle, not remove too much oil, and in our opinion contain no penetration enhancers or ingredients irritating to the eyes. A body cleanser will normally use stronger and less detergents that foam more and remove more oil. So what is MooGoo Milk Wash?
The Milk Wash is a face wash formulation packaged into a larger bottle so that it can also be used on the body. We use 5 very mild natural cleansers as a blend is more gentle than one. We don't use SLS or any other petroleum derived detergents.. We certainly don't use Phenoxyethanol or Parabens or other ingredients that we wouldn't want on our eyes or our children. We also use a mix of natural skin conditioning ingredients. We don't use Essential Oils that can also trigger reactions, but instead a blend of Vanilla with the allergy triggering compounds removed.
Our body wash does not create big bubbles like a synthetic detergent. It washes gently and without drying of the skin. Because it is so gentle it is also a no tears formulation in children's eyes. If you are a car mechanic, you may need something stronger. If you wish to stay clean without stripping the skin of oils, the MIlk Wash is for you. If you have skin that easily reacts to a range of chemicals, than our Milk Wash is also perfect.
Free of SLS, Silicones, Phenoxyethanol, PEGS and so much more.
Benefits
- Aqua (H2O's Fancy Name): When we were told that we have to call our purified water “Aqua” we thought they were kidding, but we can’t fight bureaucracy. We aren’t trying to be fancy, but we do need to call our water “Aqua” sometimes. If we used only oils and actives, the cream would feel hot on the skin as the oils coat the skin and it becomes an occlusive. By making this cream with water, the cream penetrates the skin better which is more moisturising, soothing and cooling.
- Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Coconut-Derived Cleanser): Without any Cocobetaine many people found that it didn't foam like what they expected and felt that it wasnt cleansing enough. So we have added this to the blend of cleansers so it retains its mildness, but foams like a cleanser should.
- Decyl Glucoside (Glucose-Derived Cleanser): Glucosides are cleansers derived from mixing glucose with a fatty alcohol. They are generally acknowledged as the most gentle cleansers available. The downsides of glucosides are they do not foam well.
- Lauryl Glucoside (Glucose-Derived Cleanser): Glucosides are cleansers derived from mixing glucose with a fatty alcohol. They are generally acknowledged as the most gentle cleansers available. The downsides of glucosides are they do not foam well.
- Coco Glucoside (Glucose-Derived Cleanser): Glucosides are cleansers derived from mixing glucose with a fatty alcohol. They are generally acknowledged as the most gentle cleansers available. The downsides of glucosides are they do not foam well.
- Glyceryl Oleate (Glycerin Based Conditioner): Derived from Glycerin, these help condition and smooth the skin after washing.
- Sodium Cocoyl Sarcosinate (Coconut-Derived Cleanser): Sarcosinates are a class of natural cleansers often used in face cleansers as they are very milkd and non-irritating to the eyes. By blending this with Glucosides, it helps the formula clean effectivly without irritation.
- Glycol Distearate (Emollient): Derived from Glycerin, these help condition and smooth the skin after washing.
- Glyceryl Stearate (Emollient): Derived from Glycerin, these help condition and smooth the skin after washing.
- Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride (Guar Gum): Guar gum is obtained by dehusking and milling guar seeds. Guar gum acts as a natural preservative, thickener and emulsifier. It also helps make the skin nice and smooth after using our creams.
- Piroctone Olamine (Olamine Salt): Piroctone Olamine is an organic compound. It is a non-irritating anti-yeast ingredient which helps keep the cream free from bacteria and mould.
- Glyceryl Caprylate (Emollient): Derived from Glycerin, these help condition and smooth the skin after washing.
- Fragrance - Oatmeal (Phthalate-Free): We used to use various Essential Oils in our Milky Shampoo, Conditioner and Milk Wash. EO’s are great if we could talk to each customer and check for allergies. Due to the occasional reaction to EO’s, we removed them. We want to sooth people scalps and even a very small number of reactions to EO’s was distressing for us. But people still want their hair to smell nice. So we worked with another company to develop phthalate free fragrant oil (phthalates are the things in fragrances that a lot of people don’t like) and since then the response has been great.
